If you are using packet filtering without NAT, then no special configuration is required within Crystal Enterprise. However, you must ensure that your firewall is not inadvertently filtering Crystal Enterprise packets.
You may need to modify your packet filtering rules to allow the Web Connector (on the web server machine) to send data to the port that the WCS is listening on. By default, this port is 6401. The Web Connector must also be able to receive responses from the WCS on the same port.
