An alias is an alternate name that is assigned to a user to enable him or her to log on to Crystal Enterprise. For example, a user may have both an Enterprise alias and an LDAP alias that he or she can access the system with.
The Automated Process Scheduler (APS) is responsible for maintaining a database of information about your Crystal Enterprise system; the other components can therefore access that data as required. The data stored by the APS includes information about users and groups, security levels, Crystal Enterprise content, and servers. The APS maintains security and manages objects and servers.
