UNIX Web Connector cannot access WCS on Windows

If you install any of the Web Connectors on a UNIX web server, and install the Web Component Server (WCS) on Windows NT/2000, then you must ensure that the WCS is not configured to use Windows NT Integrated security (NT Challenge/Response). Until you disable this security, you can access the Crystal Enterprise Launchpad, but you cannot access the Crystal Management Console (CMC) or ePortfolio.

Note:    Ensure also that you can ping the WCS machine by name from the UNIX web server.

To disable Windows NT Integrated security
  1. Start the Crystal Configuration Manager (CCM) on the WCS machine.
  2. Stop the Crystal WCS, and then double-click it to view its Properties.
  3. On the Configuration tab, clear the Use Windows NT Integrated Security (NT Challenge/Response) check box; then click OK.
  4. Start the Crystal WCS.

If you still cannot access ePortfolio or the CMC, check the mappings between the web server, the Web Connector, and the WCS. For details, see Path mapping overview.
