Checking for required commands and utilities

In order for the install.sh script to run correctly, the following commands and utilities must be installed on your UNIX system:

/bin/sh

pwd

ulimit

touch

uname

eval

hostname

sed

awk

expr

grep

tail

tar

chown

dirname

gzip

stty

id

which

read

These relatively standard commands and utilities should be available on most UNIX distributions. However, if for any reason one of them is not available on your system, download and install a version appropriate to your UNIX system. It is recommended that you obtain any required files from your UNIX vendor.

Additionally, these commands and utilities must be accessible in the PATH environment variable of the crystal user account that will be created during this installation. For details, see Creating an account, a home directory, and a login environment.
