Conditions

Conditions are search criteria that allow you to make selective queries. A condition is usually calculated as <property><operator> <value>. For example: SI_PROGID = 'CrystalEnterprise.Server'.

• <property> can be a property listed in InfoObject properties or a custom property set on the object. SchedulingInfo and ProcessingInfo properties cannot used in the WHERE clause.
• <operator> must be one of the following: =, !=, >, <, >=, <=, LIKE, IN, NOT IN.
• <value> must be the valid data type for the property

You can use one or more conditions to limit the number of records that are retrieved. If you have more than one condition, they can be connected by NOT, AND, or OR.

• NOT negates the Boolean expression specified by the condition
• AND combines two conditions and evaluates to TRUE when both of the conditions are TRUE
• OR combines two conditions and evaluates to TRUE when either condition is TRUE

Using a conditional expression is desirable because it decreases the number of records that are returned and thus improves your system's performance. The use of a WHERE clause is especially important to those who want to optimize their queries. For more details, see Performance issues.
