The desktop plugins define the behavior of the objectssuch as reports, users, groups, and so onthat general users or administrators commonly manipulate through a client desktop. These plugins are dynamic; essentially, they are the class definitions that are used as templates in the creation of objects. The authentication, administration, and destination plugins are static, and they cannot be used to instantiate other objects.
Details on how to use a plugin to create new objects can be found in the Creating a new InfoObject with a desktop plugin section. For information on querying for objects in the APS InfoStore, see Retrieving InfoObjects created with a desktop plugin.
