Lesson 1: Logging on to the APS

To use the Crystal Enterprise system, you must log on to an Automated Processing Scheduler (APS); otherwise, you won't be able to manipulate system data. Note that before you are able to access the Crystal Enterprise system, both your client and server components must be running.

Creating a logon form

In this tutorial, users need to enter three items in order to log on to an APS: a user name, a password to verify the user name, and the authentication type (NT or Enterprise).

Note:    If you want to ensure that users use a certain authentication type, you can hard code this value.

This is a simple web page designed to gather logon information from the user. The code used to create the page follows, along with some remarks on retrieving and posting the APS name, user name, password, and authentication type.
